5 Tips to Create Stylish Bedding

by Vision Linens Premium Quality Bedding Supplier
Bedding is an important part of our life. That’s simply because sleep is not important, but crucial for our well-being. A fitful sleep can completely ruin your day before you’ve even brushed your teeth, and the long-term effects on your health can be detrimental. So, we know that bedding has to be comfortable.

But comfort doesn’t mean you have to compromise on appearance and good looking bedding plays its part in creating your own little perfect sleeping zone.

In this post, we’ll share five tips on how to stylise your bedding

1. Try a natural and relaxed look

While fitted sheets are the most common type of bed sheet used today, why not consider a flat sheet instead? It’s become the norm to make sure a sheet is fit snugly to the mattress, but using a flat sheet and leaving it untucked offers a more natural and relaxed look. Take a look at the flat sheets on offer at online retailers such as this one and you’ll see that there’s still plenty of choices available.

Plus, fitted sheets can often be irritating in that they spring up and pull back whilst you sleep, exposing the uncomfortable texture of the mattress below. This is particularly the case if your fitted sheet isn’t the right size for your mattress. With a flat sheet, you’ll have some slack to play with.

2. Bold is cool

When paired with neutral colours such as white and grey, bold coloured cushions can amplify the beauty of your bedding. Just try not to go too crazy with it and limit it to a cushion or two. White is the most common colour for bedding for a reason, its neutral shade helps create a calming environment, so you don’t want to splash too much colour around your bed.
Alternatively, a throw with touches of bold colours is great for adding that extra pop of style. Just don’t fold it too neatly at the bottom, as throws should look like you’ve literally just ‘thrown’ them onto your bed. Drape it over the corner and you’re good to go.

3. Mix and match

In a similar way to adding bold colours, mixing it up a little can do wonders for your bedding’s appearance. If your bedding is white then all colours will go well with it, while adding extras such as cushions and bedspreads is a good way to add some extra style. Remember to consider layering and texture when planning your look, but always keep it casual.
How many cushions should you add? Try to go for an odd number, such as three, but you don’t want so many cushions that it overwhelms the bed and makes it a pain to remove the cushions every night and replace them every morning. Try different colours, shapes, textures and designs and experiment with placing them in a relaxed way.

4. Use Quality Bedding

Don’t just go for the cheapest bedding you can find. Cheap, poor quality bedding not only is less comfortable and doesn’t last as long, but its appearance doesn’t exactly ooze style. Buy the best bedding that you can afford and you’ll be getting bedding that both looks stylish and can withstand regular washing. A bigger upfront cost will pay off with better longevity because, as they say, you buy cheap and you buy twice!

That’s not to say that low price bedding is immediately bad quality. As with any product, you can find deals everywhere. But make sure you do a little research before you buy by checking out what materials are used, reading reviews and simply asking your friends and family for recommendations. With the endless amounts of brands out there, word of mouth is more powerful than ever.

By adopting the tips above, you can attain a snazzy look that you’ll always be in love with.
