5 SIMPLE Dressing Tips for Young Guys on a Date

If you're preparing for a date with a girl, there are five dressing tips that you need to know and make sure you don't overlook if you want that date to go well with a girl. What are they? Now when it comes to getting dressed up for things,  that you can use to your advantage to help make your outfit shine, to help make you feel more confident, and that's what I'm more focused on. Feeling more confident whenever you go out. So here are those five tips.

Number One:  Always have some kind of a prop added to your outfit. This could be a hat, a scarf, or a really cool jacket. The benefit of having a prop is that it gives you that extra pop. You stand out 'cause you're not just wearing your normal dressy clothes. If you have a hat as your prop, this is always something you could take off your own head and put it on the girl's head just to give her that little signifier that you're playing with her.

That you trust her with your thing and that you're open to kind of sharing things with her. With the scarf, you could do the same and it has that extra added value of carrying your cologne or your smell so she can feel that much more closer to you, and a jacket is just a good idea because if she does get cold, you can always give it to her and keep her warm. Plus, her wearing your jacket will help her feel way more comfortable around you.

She'll feel like you're taking care of her. You're showing her that you're willing to give something up to help her feel safe and that's a key component to feeling comfortable with someone on a date.

Number two: Always make sure that the things you wear to match. For example, one thing that people tend to overlook is matching their belt color with their shoe color. If you're wearing a black belt, you should be wearing black shoes. You never wanna mix and match because if you do, it's gonna look totally off. 

In situations like this, you might wanna get yourself one of those reversible belts which has the brown on one side and the black on the other or you might just wanna get dedicated belts so you can wear 'em depending on what kind of shoes you wear. For me, I prefer to wear my brown shoes over my black shoes whenever I go out. So, I always have my brown belt handy. Doing this makes it a whole lot easier because I stick to one color and I never run into the issue of mismatching.

Number three:  Wear plain-colored t-shirts or button-downs without any kind of really crazy pattern or design on them. Wearing more plain clothing makes the focus more on the color or the design rather than the logo or image that you have on your shirt. The last thing you want is for your outfit to play second fiddle to what you're wearing in front of it. Now I have lots of t-shirts with designs on them.

Number four:  Wear dress pants or fitted pants. Don't wear the same pants or jeans that you wear every single day to school or work because you're going out on a date here. You wanna show that person that you're making that extra effort to kinda step it up for them. I know you might be thinking they're pants. It doesn't really matter. But trust me. Every little detail does matter because it helps create an entire image of how you look.

So, if that image is not all put together well, your crush is gonna take notice of that and that date might not go as smoothly as you want it to. And guys, jeans are okay as long as they're somewhat form-fitted. You don't wanna wear super baggy or stretched out or discolored jeans because it doesn't always look good. It does kinda look like you just pulled 'em outta the wash, out of the bottom of your drawer and you didn't really step it up here.

Number five: make sure to iron your clothes. This is something that a lot of people tend to overlook because they just pull something out of their closet and think they're ready to go. But ironing your clothes will make everything look smooth and sharp. The last thing you wanna do is to have an okay looking shirt with wrinkled pants or a wrinkled up shirt and normal looking pants. You want everything to be crisp and clean. If you walk in feeling super put together, you're gonna feel way more confident and trust me, your date's gonna pick up on that too.

Now, remember. You don't have to get all super dressed up with a suit and a tie and all this other stuff. Your date just wants to see that you stepped it up a notch for them. You stepped it up because you want this date to be special and meaningful and you're the confident person that's gonna do it.
