5 Qualities to check before hiring a Resume Writing Service

Step 1:

Go to https://www.whois.com/whois/ and type the domain name of the resume writing company. Whois will tell when the website will expire. If the website will expire in less than a year or the domain seems to be new then better avoid it. 

If the domain is registered recently, check whether they have user management portal such as login/signup. Investing in the development site takes a huge investment that usually spammers do not do.

Step 2: 

Check whether they have a valid SSL. Unless until they have an SSL Certificate ("https" version of the website) do not make any payments online.

Step 3:

Check their reviews. Ignore the review content if it is there on their website. Check reviews on Pubic sites such as Google and Facebook. Ignore the reviews which are shown in the meta description of the Google search listings as anyone can manipulate. Check reviews on Google Map/facebook, that is reliable.

Step 4:

Compare the pricing and choose as per their deliverables. It is not you have to pay huge for the same service which you can get with the other provider. If someone charges you low, ask them how they are able to offer this low price. If someone charges you high, think why they charge high. You're investing money in your career. So make sure the money is invested in the right place. 

Step 5:

Check what resume types your service provider is capable of. There are 4 resume types that are universally accepted. Make sure you get an ATS compatible resume.
