Create a list…you get the gist!

Moving is as crazy in India, as it is in any other place. It WILL drive you crazy! That’s why, if you have no intention of losing your sanity, you need to create a list. Write down each and every item that needs to be packed. You can use MS Excel or just a simple notebook if you are not too keen on technology. Remember, that you need to number each and every box that the packing moving services guy gets you. Sure, they’ll help you but you need to know where everything is packed.

Also, put a red sticker on the kitchen door of your new home. That’s because when the movers eventually get all your stuff, they’ll know exactly where to put each and every box.

Matching Stuff Stays Together

Yup, so that means your TV remote goes with the TV and not in a box labelled ‘Misc. Supplies’. This tip works wonders if you have no intention of losing anything. Keep all related stuff together. It not only makes unpacking not seem like a horrible task assigned to you by Satan, but it makes keeping a check on everything easier.

Clothing

Save yourself (and others) the embarrassment of not having any clean clothes to wear just because you packed all your clothing in a box, which, now you can’t find. Always pack all clothing in bags and suitcases, so that you can easily locate them.
