5 Ideas for Small Bathrooms

by Bathrooms Direct Yorkshire Shop By Products

Moving into a home with a small bathroom can mean having to be a bit more creative with your bathroom furnishing ideas. Don’t worry though – there are plenty of space-saving solutions for small bathrooms and en suites that will ensure your bathroom is small but perfectly formed!

#1. Shelve Your Accessories

Forget freestanding storage – bathroom shelves are the way to go if you’re short on floor space. From wall-mounted shower shelves, ideal for your shampoo and shower gel, to stylish glass shelves for storing your everyday accessories, you’ll find plenty to choose from.

#2. Put it in a Corner

Standard sized wash basins and can take up a great deal of space and in a small bathroom you may not have room for vanity units. Step up the corner basin! Fantastic for bathrooms with limited space, a corner basin with a mixer tap or Matki Showers are the perfect size for handwashing and compact enough to fit in almost any bathroom, no matter how tiny.

#3. Wall Mount it

A huge toilet isn’t an option if you’re going to be kitting out a tiny bathroom, so why not mount your toilet on the wall? Wall hung toilets are ideal for modern bathrooms as they come in a range of styles, from D-Style toilets to rimless and square toilets, adding a contemporary touch while saving space.

#4. Sliding Doors

One of the biggest challenges in a small bathroom is where the shower cubicle is going to go – finding space for doors to open can be tricky. With sliding doors, you have more choice. You’ll find a range of doors to choose from online, from sliding doors for recessed showers to ones designed for use with a corner shower.

#5. Be Upstanding for Freestanding

Fitted baths are limiting when it comes to small bathrooms as you’ll need available wall space, so why not opt for a Waters Baths or freestanding bath? Claw foot tubs have seen a resurgence in popularity recently, great if you want to create an opulent, traditional bathroom. But you’ll also find more contemporary options available too, and you can choose from wall mounted or freestanding taps to give you even more flexibility when positioning your bath perfectly in a small space.

You don’t have to compromise when it comes to decorating a small bathroom – just use one (or more) of these space saving ideas and you’ll realise good things really do come in small packages!
