According to historical sources, the temple is said to have been built in the thirteenth century. When a war took place between Alauddin Khilji and king Hammer at the fortification of Ranthambore. During this war time that went on for years, all the food that was hoarded for so long was now depleting. A desperate King Hameer saw a vision of Ganesha in his dreams, telling him that everything would be fine by the next morning. When the new day did roll up, an idol of Ganesh with three eyes was placed on the walls of the fort. And then, as the story goes, the godowns got refilled soon enough, and King Hammer was able to survive the war. Thus, he built a temple dedicated to the trinetra Ganesh, Riddhi Siddhi, Shubh Labh, and an idol of the mouse.
