It is not always possible to use fancy infographics and other audio-visual aides to make your content interesting. However, that does not mean if a webinar that lacks these cannot be engaging.

So here’s a list of 5 easy tips that will help to liven up a free webinar event.

Add humor

There is always a joke to share about any topic. Find a good one and try and use it in your free webinar event. Make sure you practice delivering the joke, as the last thing you want is for it to fall flat or result in an awkward silence. Also, it is not always necessary to tell a joke, simple content if presented in a witty way will be well received by your audience.

Share experiences

A free webinar event or any such similar events focuses on the dissemination of information. However, there may be incidents when sharing across information may come across as preachy. To keep your audience from losing interest and eventually missing out on the information, it is advisable that you share some personal experiences to emphasize a point. This not only helps your audience relate better to what is being said but also encourages them to ask questions and open up about their own experiences.

Ask relevant questions

A free webinar service or other such events can be very dull if you simply talk at people instead of talking to them. Audience involvement is crucial to making a webinar lively. Get the audience to talk and make their opinions heard. You can use many webinar tools to do so effectively. Conducting a poll is the easiest way, so is receiving questions through live tweets during your event. If you want to take it a step further, you may want to look up and find details on some of your guests before the event and ask them to share their experiences.

Paint a picture

Take your clue from Hollywood. They know a trick or two about painting a picture and taking their audience on a journey. It is always better to present your content as if it was a story. People do want hard facts, but they want them in the most interesting and engaging way possible. So instead of saying something as a straight up dry fact, use an analogy to elucidate a point. This will liven up your webinar easily and keep your audience engaged throughout.

Connect with the audience

It often happens that because webinars have to be conducted in a short span of time, people may not be able to keep up with the pace that you deliver the information at. It is therefore wise to arrange a few printouts that contain relevant information and links to your resources that your audience can go back and review. Also, if possible try and make yourself available to answer questions via social media or your blog or email well after the webinar.
