You are reading this blog, which means you need insider information, some tricks, tips, and secrets to getting the best hair dye job ever! Be it for long-lasting hair color, cool hair color shades, or any other tricky hair color style, we have some fun tips that you can follow to color your hair at home and get the hair that you have always dreamed of achieving!

Tip #1: How to get the perfect shade of blue hair color?
Your hair is bleached but it is not high enough for blue unless it is a level 9 or above. You should also tone your hair with the Fine Tone toning shampoo to get rid of unwanted brassy undertones. These undertones will occur after you bleach your hair, they may be yellow or orange. And considering color theory, blue mixed with yellow is not a very pretty color, right? So the key here is to tone your hair and neutralize your base for the perfect blue hair color

Tip #2: Don’t wash your hair just before bleaching it

The natural oils and minerals in your hair allow the bleach to develop and pre-lighten your hair faster. If you wash your hair just before bleaching it then you will strip your hair of the natural oils and make your hair more vulnerable to dryness and frizziness after bleaching.

Tip #3: Apply petroleum jelly or vaseline on your skin to avoid staining

If you don’t want to end up looking pink after coloring your hair at home then make sure that you apply a generous amount of petroleum jelly around your hairline, necklines, and on your hands as well. Ensure that you wear gloves and use a brush to apply the semi-permanent hair color neatly without any mess. You can also use oil if you do not have petroleum jelly. This will allow you to remove any stains that you might get very easily after you are done washing off the hair dye.

Tip #4: Use foil to separate different hair colors for rainbow hair

You want to look like a personified rainbow but don’t know how to keep the colors from mixing with each other. Here’s the trick, use plastic wrap or foil to separate the different colored strands and wash them one by one to ensure that different shades don’t mix with each other right after the first application. During the second wash, you can section your hair and wash it carefully to ensure that there is minimal mixing of shades.

Tip #5: Start your hair coloring journey with warm tones

If you are a beginner then you should use colors like red, pink, and purple. Want to know why? When you bleach your hair, you will get orange or yellow undertones. These colors when mixed with warm colors, will only make the shades more vibrant. But if you apply cool tones on such a base then it will mix up to give you green or brown which you might not want. If you have yellow undertones and you apply purple hair color, then you will get a brighter shade of purple with hints of pink.

Follow these super easy tips to color your hair at home and give yourself the quickest hair color makeover.
