5 Classic and Evergreen Fashion Tips that Most Men Ignore

by Vikram Sharma Textile designer

People believe that only women are perplexed when they stand in front of their closets in the morning. No, that is not correct. Men, like women, are unsure about which pair of clothes to wear when they have a gap in their wardrobe.

So, let's get right to the point. Here are five tried-and-true steps that should not be overlooked.

However, why?

Because following the classic fashion rules can eliminate 90% of your dressing-up consternation. Remember, no matter your age, these fashion tips will help you win the game.

1. Be Simple and Classic

The first thing you should recognize is that in your desire to shop at the beginning of each month, you may end up purchasing a large number of clothes based on current fashion trends. This is somewhat acceptable, but we advise against it.

Aim to buy clothes that you can see yourself wearing for at least four years. This may appear absurd, but it works. Assume you purchase a high-quality pair of jeans from an online store. For more than three years, our fashion experts have personally tested and worn Levi's jeans. Blue jeans are a timeless wardrobe staple. So make sure you get it from a reputable retailer at a reasonable price.

Another thing to keep in mind is that each piece of clothing has a life span that is determined by its quality and the ever-changing fashion trends. Obviously, you cannot expect to wear a T-shirt over a cotton vest for four years, but you should plan to use it for at least six months.

2. Know how to choose coats and colors

What are the top three factors you consider when purchasing a coat? Is it the cost, the design, or the fit?

If you answered any of these three questions, it's time to reconsider. A coat is a timeless item, so choose one in a classic or simple color. Black, Navy, Blue, Cream, Olive, and other similar colors are evergreen, and you will not be sorry if you purchase one of these coats because you will be able to use it for years and for a variety of occasions.

Furthermore, when it comes to patterns, always go for solids or minimalistic patterns. So, the fewer the patterns, the simpler the colors, and the better the appearance.

3. Dress up well for the office

The majority of our daily time is spent working from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the office. As a result, it is critical that you dress appropriately for the office. A pair of trousers and a well-fitted shirt are usually acceptable in most Indian offices. During the summer, it is also acceptable to roll up your sleeves.

In business meetings, however, it is always recommended to wear a suit. It doesn't have to look expensive or luxurious, but a classy and comfortable tapered fit suit will suffice.

A white or light blue shirt is a timeless piece that goes with almost any dark-colored pants.

4. Have proper clothes for winter

Is a jacket the first thing that comes to mind when you think of winter?

That shouldn't be the case. 'Layering' should be the answer.

Yes, layering is essential in the winter to keep warm while also remaining fashionable. Make certain that you do it correctly. Wearing a visible t-shirt under a shirt, for example, is not acceptable. Instead, wear a non-visible white t-shirt or undershirt underneath a sweater or jacket.

It's also important to be able to move your arms and body freely without feeling restricted by over-layering.

Wear a t-shirt or a shirt under a denim jacket or blazer for a casual layering look.

5. Prepare to become casual and trendy

Casual wear like handloom lungi is usually much easier to style than formal wear. However, this does not imply that you can mix and match any casual wear. T-shirts are the most popular, preferred, and comfortable casual attire. Always keep some solid tees in your wardrobe because they save you a lot of time when you're not sure what to wear. Some people believe that t-shirts are only appropriate for young people and that they do not look good on older people. That is incorrect.

When comes to 2022, white sneakers are becoming increasingly popular, and they almost always go well with jeans, chinos, and other slacks. Also, have a pair of boots and a leather jacket, both of which are timeless and look great when paired with jeans.
