Everyone likes to see their name or some design that has significance to them on items they own. But if the item is a jacket or t-shirt or a cap then? What is the best way to personalize these items? The answer is very simple - Embroidery.

Embroidery is the art of using coloured thread stitches to create designs on any type of fabric. This is a high-end form of personalization that has many applications. One of the main reasons why embroidery appeals to a lot of people is that it has a crafted look that includes class, elegance and attention to detail. Before personalizing your item with embroidery work in Dallas or elsewhere let’s take a look at embroidery types-

Outline Embroidery
Outline stitch is a basic embroidery stitch that can follow easy curves as well as borders and this stitch is used to mark outlines in an embroidery pattern. Outline stitches give a secure definition to the plan or structure of a body of work. It can be used alone or for outlining other stitches such as satin stitches to create sharp prominent borders. Sometimes these stitches may look close to a stem stitch, but when you test the stitch on a sample, you will see a distinct difference between these two stitches.

Whitework Embroidery
Whitework embroidery is an umbrella term for needlework done on white fabric using white thread. From a distance, the details of whitework can be almost indivisible, but up close it is elegant and breathtaking. An important form of whitework originated in Ayrshire, Scotland. It was often embroidered with satin stitch and French knots and worked with white thread on fine white muslin. But now one can get this embroidery style in Dallas or anywhere.

Cross Stitch Embroidery
Cross stitching is considered the easiest form of hand embroidery that uses little crosses or ‘x’ to create a tiled pattern. This type of needlework is normally worked on even weave fabrics such as Aida that has visible holes in them. All cross-stitched fabrics are technically ‘evenweave’. As the term refers to the fact that the fabric is woven to make sure that there is the same number of threads per inch in the warp and the weft.

Shadow Work Embroidery
Shadow work is a delicate and simple hand embroidery technique that makes use of sheer fabrics to great effect. This embroidery can give the best effect to a sheer. The main stitches used for embroidery shadow work are closed herringbone stitches, running stitches and back stitches. But the closed herringbone stitches are the most commonly used, as it creates a decorative criss-cross effect.

If you take a close-up look at an embroidery type, you can see those literally hundreds and even thousands of stitches come together to form an intricate, colourful pattern. Select any type as per your choice to personalize your item with embroidery work in Dallas or somewhere else.
