4 Components To Getting Cheap Website Visitors For Your Business
To be fair, there's nothing wrong with generating cheap website traffic with paid sources. What you may find and what I've found is that it can be a slow way to generate cheap website visitors.
The big boys and girls playing in internet marketing are generating boatloads of website traffic using paid sources.
1)- Get rid of your fear of spending money on traffic
A huge problem a lot of online entrepreneurs have is that they're literally scared to death of paying for traffic.
You might have heard some of the guru's telling you to get your visitors from free traffic sources. Nope. Not true. One of the fastest ways to get traffic is through paid sources.
The key is you need to know what you're doing. If you do you can make a MASSIVE amount of money with paid traffic.
I know folks just like you have have generated well over 1,000,000 visitors to their niche sites from paid traffic over the years.
So stop change your mindset around your fear of using paid traffic in your online business. Instead of "playing to lose" you need to be "playing to win".
2) - Know Your Numbers (this where most folks fail)
After this post is written and traffic pours into it, I'll know how many folks came to it where they came from and how long they stayed. If I wanted to I could even find out visually "where" on the site people were actually clicking! In short I'll know the numbers for this page and I'll be able to tell how well this page performed.
Similarly, when paying for traffic you need to know your numbers. Paid traffic can come from:
Newsletter Advertising
Goolge Adwords
Bing
Craigslist
Solo Ads
The paid traffic difference also is that if your advertising is compelling, you'll get immediate traffic, whereas free traffic like SEO is not necessarily immediate. For example, with my buddy Chris I setup a Solo Ad campaign where I paid $60 for 100 clicks. I actually got over 100 clicks in under a week. Those 100 clicks led to about 50 subscriptions to my list.
If I was trying to get the same results using SEO it might take me a month!
You need to understand what each campaign is costing you in terms of $ per user. If you don't rigorously track what you're spending and what your results are, you will lose money.
Paid traffic is a game of testing, tracking, tweaking and optimizing.
You can't expect to just get in an make money immediately.
What you can do is start small, test, learn and grow your success over time.
3)- Start With ONE Source!
You're going to eventually want to have multiple traffic sources making you money. And you never want to have all your traffic eggs in one basket. If one goes down you want to be able to switch to your other sources. One of my partners has tested over FIFTY traffic sources over the past year and consistenly uses about 10 at a time.
But as a new person, you're going to have to start with one source first. Trust me on this. I've made the bonehead mistake of thinking I could "do it all" with multiple sources my first time out, and failed miserably and wasted money all over the place.
Learn how to make money with your first traffic source - then leverage some of the profits from it to fund your next source. This allows you to self fund your marketing into multiple sources.
4)- Start Small And Then Scale Up As You Make More $$
Too many folks spend their whole wad of money on the first potential advertising opportunity they see. WRONG. Start small. And here's a tip. Be OK with losing a little money. You're going to lose some of it anyway. It's true and it's part of your learning curve. Be adaptable. Look at each ad as an experiment and take some of the emotion out of it. (Oh, and thank me later).
But when you get started your going to want to start out with 50 or 100 visitors a day and tweak your system to get it working really well and optimized. Once you do this then your going to want to go out and ramp things up so you can eventually get thousands of visitors a day.
Do it this way and you'll be able to quickly crack the code on minimally investing with maximum return for your first traffic source. And you'll have more confidence on scaling this traffic source with more money, for more ROI.
And please don't think this will happen overnight. It won't. You have to be consistent with your ad spend and monitoring and tweaking.
When (not if) you get this down and get good at paid traffic you can literally harness and UNLEASH a torrent of bad-ass traffic that will surprise you. That's when your business gets truly fun, baby!
