There is no denying the fact that customers have always been the backbone of a business. Though the customer issues may greatly vary from one person to another. Before embarking on any new business journey, understanding the buyers is imperative. It is then you formulate strategies to set up your identity in the market. Worked as imitation jewellery wholesaler for almost a decade, I know that there are different ways of getting into the customer’s pain points. Through my practical learning and exposure, I have tried to sum it up for the emerging wholesalers.

Here are 3 ways to identify the retailer issues:

Why Retailers Buy Products from You?: This is the main question that you must put up to yourself. This question has a direct association with the preferences and tastes of end-users/ customers. Retailers are merely a means to cater to common customer needs. You must know the basic objective as to why retailers choose you over others. It can be anything from quality to minimum order quantity. If you intend to establish an ever-lasting bond, then meet the buyers in person or keep in touch through electronic modes. This hassle-free connectivity is one of the advantages of technology.

Always pay heed to your customers: Recently, a friend of mine who has no relation with the wholesale sector, asked me to prepare a Customer-review form for him. He had put several questions under many sections from the areas of improvement to customer satisfaction rate. If you own a website, request buyers to rank your products and services. You have no idea but a positive review can allure two or more retailers to your business. To fulfill the retail requirements, you first need to understand them. Address customer grievances and try to resolve their queries as early as possible.
Know about the trending products in the industry: The internet is the source of enormous knowledge. One-click can open up many doors to information. Before putting your foot into the industry, do intensive research about your niche. While I was dealing in wholesale fashion rings as an imitation jewellery wholesaler, I kept a check on my competitors. Apart from this, I observed the competitors moves and understood what gave them a cutting edge over others. Furthermore, I also joined social media groups of my niche to get an insight into customer trends. Garner as much information as possible from the internet about your retailers and their buying patterns. The best thing is that everything is available at one click.
