The autocomplete cache in Outlook is quite useful feature that let users type in the email addresses without actually typing the full name. All user has to do is to type the first letter of the contact name and the autocomplete cache will suggest the full email address to you. If there are more than one email addresses with the same letter, then you will be suggested all the contact names on the list. By deleting the cache

Let’s first go through the easiest method to clear the Outlook autocomplete cache. Start typing the email address that you want to delete from the cache until Outlook shows it. When the address name is displayed, press down key to highlight the email address. Click on the delete icon beside the email address to clear it from the autocomplete cache.

By deleting the file Outlook.nk2

If you want to clear all the entries from the Outlook address cache, there is an easy method to do so. Use the task manager to close the Outlook program and make sure that it is not running in the background. Now open the Windows Explorer and Paste %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook in the address bar. It will open Outlook.nk2 file, select it and delete it.

By using Settings

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2010 and later versions, there is another way by which you can clear the Outlook autocomplete cache. In the application window, go to File and then navigate to Option. Now click on Mail and go to Send Messages header. Under this header, click on Empty Auto-Complete List option.
