The capital city of England and the United Kingdom, London is also the largest city within the European Union. It has a rich and diverse history dating back to the Roman times. No matter what part of the world you belong to, you have most likely seen the red telephone booths and Big Ben clock tower. These are two of the many characteristics of the city that have become synonymous to London itself.

A great number of tourists visit the city to explore the British culture and experience the royalty that is reflected by England worldwide. Most of them prefer to stay in boutique hotels near Tower Bridge. Britishers are known for being polite and very particular with respect to the general way of living. Therefore, it is essential to be aware of the do’s and do not’s when visiting the place so as to not stand out from the crowd and create any kind of inconvenience for the locals.

Majority of the travel blogs give you an insight about things that you should do and places to visit but we would like to prepare you by telling the things you shouldn’t do in London for a safe and enjoyable trip.

1. Stick to your plan: There are a number of things to do and see in London. This can often leave you in a state of confusion and a fear of missing out on something. But it is best to stick to your plan and not wander off. Plan you trip extensively and prioritize the places you want to visit on a given day. Apart from roaming on foot, you might have to take a bus or train for places that are far.

2. Tube etiquettes: There are certain non-spoken rules that apply to using the tube. While on the escalator you should always stand on the right. The left is for those who want to walk. It is a golden rule in London Underground and failure to adhere to this will get you disapproving looks from everyone. It is also advisable to avoid the tube during peak hours as it is filled with the locals making their way to and from work. It can get congested and might be a problem if you have a lot of luggage.

3. Use the oyster card: Using an Oyster card will save you more money than a travel card might. These cards are on a pay as you use basis and have a cap on the daily price. In no case should you opt for a one way ticket, unless you wish you pay double the price for the same trip.

To make your trip comfortable and experience the typical English way of life it is best to choose from a variety of in boutique hotels in London. It is also a must to indulge in the English breakfast and high tea. It will be a surreal experience and compel you for another trip.
