3 Quick Tips to Build a Really Big List

"The money is in the list!" How many times have you heard that line? I sure have.. tons of times! Mostly from experienced Internet marketers. Now that's pretty overwhelming if you're a newbie and have totally no idea how to get started online.

I won't beat around the bush and tell you exactly what you need to do. Learn how to build your own list. I didn't know what that meant or how to do it when I started. All the online terminologies were giving me a headache... and nosebleed on some occasions. LOL!

Building a list of thousands may seem daunting and impossible -- that's what I thought too -- but it's something that can really happen if you know exactly what to do. I'm no expert and I'm still building to reach 1000 too.

Back to topic, here are three quick tips to help you get started.

1. An effective squeeze page

A squeeze page is a page where you capture the contact information of your potential client (also known as capture page or lead form). It is the most important thing to have. If it's very boring, has bad content, or isn't appealing, you won't get people to sign up
to your list.

You need to make sure that you talk about what they're going to get, how they will benefit from it, and exactly what they can achieve with what you're giving them.

By letting them know about what they're going to achieve, you can be sure to get more people to sign up.

2. Learn from experienced marketers

Try looking at some of the top marketers' squeeze pages. If you look at them, you'll notice how appealing and eye-catching they are.

This is what you need to do when building a squeeze page, and it's to attract your visitors the way the top marketers do.

3. Learn some basic SEOs

Search engine optimization (SEO) need not be complicated. On my main blog site, I posted an article on "SEO in Ten Easy Steps"  -- a quick guide to anyone who wants to optimize their sites for the search engines.

Create a personal website of your squeeze page, many people will sign up because all they see is what you have to offer them and the subscription form.

Apply the tips you will learn about basic SEOs. This will help your page to rank higher in search engines. More steps are actually involved here (i.e. keyword research) but that's best reserved for another post.

Once you've got your squeeze page sorted - you just need to drive traffic and lots of it!

Note: This is not a set and forget process when you're just starting up. You need to build traffic through consistent and persistent online promotion using the various platforms available -- social media sites, blogs, text ad exchanges, traffic exchanges, eZine advertising, email marketing, etc.
