3 Inspirational Stories from A&E's
by Fusion 360 Studios Digital Marketing SpecialistsPeople in Los Angeles and across the U.S. have a guilty pleasure for watching the downward spiral of another individual who later gets their life back together. It is not something that people regularly admit as it seems cruel, but anybody who has seen A&E’s hit series, “Intervention,” knows the feeling.
Most people fail to recognize the success rate that the show brings amongst the drug and alcohol addicted particpants. The show sets families up with a professional intervention and sends them out to get professional help from established rehab centers in Los Angeles and across the nation.
Below are three inspirational success stories of individuals who have beat the odds and have overcome their drug and alcohol addictions.
Leslie
Episode 11 aired in June 2007 that featured Leslie, a Sunday school teacher and mother of three. Leslie was a raging alcoholic who caused physical and emotional harm to her friends and family as well as embarrassment, especially to her children. When her family gets rid of all of the alcohol in the house, she resorts to massive bottles of mouthwash.
Her follow-up episode features a hardly recognizable woman who got her life back after spending months in a rehab center. She is now an advocate and spokeswoman for alcoholism among women in Los Angeles and across the country.
Gabe
Gabe was abandoned by his mother and left on the streets of Calcutta at a very young age. A young American family who strived to give him the best life possible later adopted him. He later became very depressed with the idea of his past and resorted to cocaine and heroin to deal with his emotions.
After his friends and family intervened, he was sent to a drug rehab center where he got clean. He now lives a happy, sober life.
Allison
Allison was a promising pre-med student studying to become a surgeon. Her graphic past of being molested as a child combined with her parents’ recent divorce haunted her, thus resulting in her inhaling electronic cleaning products to get high.
After her intervention, she attended rehab and now lives a sober life and goes to school.
