2015 Nissan Pathfinder
One of the original names in the SUV game, Nissan Pathfinder(with car dvd) is now in its 30th year. In spite of its age, new features, tricks and updated styling make the Pathfinder as fresh in 2015 as it was in 1985.
Though the 2015 does not make many significant changes to the base model, which saw a major overhaul in 2013, it does introduce a wide array of new options, such as a new "Family Entertainment Package" with dual headrests and android car stereo.
Wherever the adventure its, Pathfinder is built to get there—with six extra passengers.
New for the 2015 is the D-Step shift logic on the standard-issue Xtronic transmission. Traditional CVT transmissions, such as the Xtronic, offer great torque and excellent fuel efficiency, but tend to be jerkier than non-CVT transmissions. With D-Step, the Pathfinder's Xtronic CVT offers all the same benefits with the added smoothness of a traditional transmission.
Powering this new smooth transmission is a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine. This Pathfinder staple offers excellent performance at 260 horsepower, while still achieving up to 27 miles per gallon on the highway. With the 2015 Pathfinder, power doesn't come with a weakness for gas.
At its core, however, the Pathfinder remains an SUV built on a truck frame with a heart for handling. Though 2-wheel drive performs well with standard traction control system, an optional 4-wheel drive with hill descent control takes the Pathfinder anywhere it needs to go.
Though rugged on the outside, the latest Pathfinder knows how to get soft on the inside. The Flex Seating System, with patented Latch and Glide system, is unmatched in its class. It allows versatile and safe seating expansion, even when the passengers are pint-sized. For when there are no passengers, the third row turns the back of the pathfinder into a massive cargo-hauler. An available 13-speaker Bose sound system can create a cinema on the road. A three-zone climate control system comes standard, and is controlled through the console-mounted, 4.2-inch touchscreen.
Knowing that a seven-passenger vehicle will likely be hauling some precious cargo, Nissan went above and beyond in making the latest Pathfinder its safest. Vehicle Dynamic Control can instantly detect sudden changes in engine performance, such as when a large slick patch is hit. It can rapidly cut engine power and apply tire-specific brake pressure to keep the vehicle on the road. In the event of a rare crash, Nissan's advance air bag system uses a series of sensors to match airbag response to the crash—including airbags in the ceiling and sides.
In addition to these standard features, the Pathfinder also includes optional safety technologies, such as blind spot monitoring and an "around view" parking camera that gives a bird's-eye look when parking.
Pathfinder has the soul of the truck with the family in mind. This SUV balances classic outdoor performance with the luxuries that will keep passengers, big a small, entertained for the whole trip. Being able to get all of these features for under $30,000 makes it clear why Pathfinder has topped Kelly Blue Books list for Best Family Car two years in a row. It is perfect that if installing a car dvd player in the car.
