Since the period of 1980, the State of Origin has been a significant part of Australian civilization. The best part is these series have not disappointed any individual living on this earth. It actually attracts a huge number of TV audience and that is the reason why it has been considered as the region's prime sporting events.

The State of Origin series have made a great reputation in Australia. In actual terms, it is a series of rugby league matches between the Blues, representing the state of New South Wales and the Maroons, the state of Queensland. In the year of 1981, there was only one match played all the year around. However, from the year of 1982, a best of 3 match series played around the middle of rugby league period. The moment this series have been introduced, the total win games for both the sides are exceptionally equal.

There is always a close game between the state of Queensland and the state of the South wales. These both of the rugby teams have always played under the 'State of Origin' rules. Basically, the Queensland were supposed to host two matches in 2013, but the ARLC (Australian Rugby League Commission) made an announcement in 2012 of new five year cycle hosting 2 home matches in 2013 and in 2016 also. Now, when it comes to talk about the Maroons, well it is to host 2 matches in 2014 and 2017 and the leftover match to be hosted a neutral venue in 2015.

Coming to the New South Wales team, it will be coached by the former Australia captain Laurie Daley who will then take over from former Australia mate Ricky Stuart. He has moved on from State of Origin duty followed by the 2012 series to mentor Parramatta. From the game three last year, the Blues team playing in the opening game of 2013 series have seen a plenty of changes.

In order to join the squad, there are 4 debutants that are being selected by Laurie Daley . They are: Josh Reynolds, Andrew Fifita, James Maloney and Blake Ferguson. Since, then the team has not looked back and continue with the wining streak till 2013.

In the coming year of 2014, it has been anticipated that NSW will be quite hopeful to end the Queensland's eight year series record perfectly. Undoubtedly, the spectators will be quite happy to see the clash between these two teams.
