Even as I write this, I think this subject might be better addressed by forming a group---So if you choose to leave a comment, please let me know if you think there would be interest in that

For now, I'm going to assume you at least know what an autoresponder DOES, and not debate for the moment whether you need one to market online.  Personally, I feel that you DO.  What I wanted to address is that many people fail to turn this powerful tool into an income resource as well, and especially the money left on the table by ignoring the local warm, offline marketing options for this service.

Obviously a great site of marketers like Apsense is a great place to promote your auto responder, and it's affiliate referral program online--as well are safelists, traffic exchanges, Facebook and many  other online options  For a moment, though, let's consider some great possibilities right around the corner from your door, or among friends and family---You can market an online service very successfully OFFline!

Some ways to markets to consider, if you haven't:

This is a big, and often overlooked market: Your local and regional bands  I know, your buddy's band probably has a MySpace and Facebook page---but how about gathering e-mail addresses @ their gigs and expanding their playing area gradually by being able to effectively promote more personally through an auto responder? List the gigs, promote the clubs, get more patrons @ each booking.  A friend was playing in a band in Mass., who's leader was from New Mexico.  Building from the local following, and that some gigs brought in tourists from around the country, in time they were able to book a tour from one coast to the next, through pockets of fans in different areas and other contacts opted in to their list & newsletter.

Your local mom & pop owned restaurants.

Olive Garden,Outback and Red Lobster can, now so can the little guy.  Show your local diner/fine dining place how to build their business by offering a discount for leaving a valid e-mail for the newsletter.  Maybe 20% off for subscribing--then continue to garner business through promoting specials, happenings.  I recommend they really try to personalize the establishment in the letters.  Then, maybe the potential customer will be thinking " hmm Red Lobster? No wait- I'll hit Joe's Seafood--10% off and that nice waitress just got engaged..." Yes--that really happens.

This is already getting long, so we'll leave your local churches and charities for a further date---but this can really be a great Win-Win-Win situation--For the organization, it's donor list and YOU too...

 Much success to you all!
