Professional Negligence in Health Care – Four Fallen Stars!

Professional negligence in health care is a serious matter as many doctors, nurses, physicians, psychiatrists and other medical practitioners are alleged in a huge numbers annually due to their malpractices. Professional negligence is itself a crime in health care and it’s hurting the trust of patients on medical practitioners.
There is a misconception in our society that this medical malpractice and professional negligence is only prevailing in a low scale living community, but the facts are astounding that there is no exception; even Unites States President George Washington, Michael Jackson, Anna Nicole Smith and John Ritter were the victims of professional negligence in health care.
A brief insight of four extreme cases of professional negligence and medical malpractice in health care is elaborated under to let you all know that we need to keep an eye on our medical practitioner during our health care treatment and checkups.
George Washington, who was the first president of United States of America, died in 1799 when approximately half amount of average blood content in his body was lost and the surprising thing was that he wasn’t even injured. Three of his doctor’s deliberately bled him in an attempt to cure his sore throat.
Michael Jackson, a legend in music world died in 2009 from drug poisoning, Michael’s autopsy shows that he has been given a sedative drug Propofol which is usually used in general surgeries with other two related drugs, causing him death. But the point is that the doctor who prescribed such medicines is alleged for professional negligence. It was always been his responsibility to provide Michael, a better health care.
John Ritter, a renowned actor/comedian, famous for his show “Three’s Company” and a movie “Problem Child” was also a victim of professional negligence in health care as he was misdiagnosed by his doctor and treated for heart attack symptoms, although he died due to unidentified aortic dissection.
Anna Nicole Smith, one more shocker appeared in the year 2007, when a holly wood star/model Anna Nicole died due to professional negligence in health care. The investigation proved that she was using 11 different prescriptions that were prescribed by her psychiatrist. One of the medical news editor said that a doctor was ultimately responsible for the medication, she puts into her circulation.
Conclusion and Recommendation:
Professional negligence in health care is becoming a major issue for patients seeking medical help. We need to create awareness about these medical errors to make people realize that we can curb the rising issue by searching medical malpractice records, by selecting doctors through proper referencing and by making strong laws to stop medical malpractice.
