Yes finishing school is a good feeling, starting back is kind of difficult for the first few weeks but after that you get use to doing homework and study again I did not have but a few days off before I started back two more years!
@Sailoffwithme,Congratulations! I am glad to know because I am also taking computer technician course every Sunday. And will be taking up computer networking as well soon. We are using working computers and non-working sets, dissecting parts of old computer that were damaged by typhoon Ondoy(2009)in Manila. Half of the class are students with disability (on wheelchairs) just starting to be technicians for their livelihood. We are five Sundays away before graduation, Wahoo! Good luck Sir.

Just finished a degree in Computer networking systems with a 3.83GPA woohoo lots of work and reading it is not that hard security is more fun so far long way to go to finish.
You have to be careful where you get copies made I am still getting very old computers now and every once in a while get a newer model. Another concern is your cell phones and smart phones your whole life is on a small phone now and if you loose it you could be putting your Identity at risk not to mention all the contacts and other information stored there. With Internet Security still in it's infancy and lagging behind, people need to be smarter with smart phones and information stored there.
Yes I agree a man's junk can be a treasure for another person. Better to donate to schools for study purposes. Most specially students taking computer technician courses. Campaign for RECYCLING, REDUCING AND RE-USING electronics waste is another step for resolving issues on Daily waste management. @Sailoffwithme goodluck on your recycling business, earning potential is also lucrative. In my country(PHIL.) we have lots of junk shops and recyclers they are making a great help to the environment
Glad to hear that you destroy it a lot of computer recycling places do not. And it's not just computers most copiers now Made after about 2000) also have a hard drive. Everything that has been copied on that machine is saved in the hard drive.
So if you run down to the UPS store or library and make a copy of your birth certificate, it is now stored in the hard drive of that copier.
Yes we destroy all the data on the hard drives so nobody can get to it, it is dissolved. Most youth groups don't want old computers we get technology is out of date with in 2 years time, they are out of date we tried that but they are picky about what they get.
Whoa hold up! before you recycle any computer you need to have your hard drive wiped. Deleting information from your computer does not REMOVE it from your computer.
So that computer that you have been doing your banking, signing into your networks and all the rest still contains that information until it is wiped.
Great advise.
I was on an advisory panel a few years ago.
One of the other members stated their company was getting new computers. Another member of our panel was a volunteer at a local youth organization. She stated that they were starting an after school computer training class.
That was all it took for those old computer to be put to good use for students to learn computer skills.
I have a friend that is always able to "find a home" for what ever needs a NEW place. (except for critter,

Yes it is true to clean it up before recycling. Especially if there is lots of private information and data, this is a must.

This is true if you go to Staples they take back old computers or any old electronic goods for recycling.
