Opportunity Seeker or Entrepreneur?

Since the housing market crash began back in 2008 worldwide economic conditions have been somewhat chaotic to say the least.  Unemployment in most of the developed nations has increased and in some countries (Iceland, Greece, Tunisia and Egypt to name a few) this has lead to social turmoil and near revolution.   Many have been forced to make major changes in their lives and for some it has meant turning to the internet to try to make a living.   Unfortunately desperate people often make desperate choices and online sharks are patiently waiting to take advantage and profit from this new pool of anxious opportunity seekers.  The number of online get rich quick schemes has grown dramatically since 2008 to fulfill the demand and need of this growing market sector in need of fast money and instant success.

As most of us already know the failure rate is close to 97% for online businesses. Why is that? The answer is fairly simple.   Most new online business operators have had no experience with online marketing.  Once they buy-in to the opportunity they are on their own, left to wander the internet in search of customers to either buy their product or join in on their opportunity.  Within a matter of a few weeks most new opportunity seekers begin to lose interest as they experience few if any sign-ups.  Often they blame the product for the poor performance but in reality they have not succeeded in getting their message out into market place.   The simple truth is they lack the marketing skills necessary to succeed online and have little if any idea how to get the job done.  The net result of all this is that most opportunity seekers end up buying-in to another program anticipating better results and certain that this time they will succeed.

This cyclical online behaviour is unfortunately very common and provides income for so many internet entrepreneurs.  Those who have experienced the pain of losing on line need to change their thinking.  They need to break the cycle and stop being opportunity seekers and begin being entrepreneurs.  To be a successful entrepreneur and build a business requires tools, training and patience.  Most people who succeed online do not reinvent the wheel they simply clone an implement successful behaviour.   Internet entrepreneurs have recognized the growing need for training and this has lead to the release of many new ?education based? programs. The Internet University and Worldprofit.com are examples of such programs that teach people how to be successful online marketers.

If you are an opportunity seeker who is new to working online I recommend that you make your initial investment in a training program.  Let experts share their experiences and knowledge with you so you can succeed.  Once you graduate from a program you will be earning income. If might not be a fortune but it is a beginning and a signal that are doing the right things.  Online success comes from consistent, patient effort and this is what you will learn in a good online training program. Be careful though, before you join a program do your research.  Talk to people who have been through the program. Find out if it has been a positive experience for them.  Once you join a program commit to the tasks and perform the daily grind.

Be a successful entrepreneur and opportunity will find you.
