Twitter ,My " Village"
I understand if you think Twitter is ridiculous. When I first started
using the free social networkingplatform the concept didn't make much sense to me either. But when I got serious about using it
just two months later,my opinion changed.
Today I refer to Twitter as my "village", a website where I connect with thousands of users and potential clients through short updates (tweets) on what I am doing or thinking.
In the past few months I have met and hired several new business partners for my primary business and even found new leads through Twitter.
Using Twitter to expand your reach and build your brand is a cinch, but there is a catch. Don't just sign up and start spamming other users with messages about what you sell. You need to create a community first.Do not use Twitter only to sell something.
It is important to communicate honestly and understand the people with whom you are connecting.Do not be scared to put personal messages out there too.
Think of it as a cocktail party, like you are joining a bunch of people talking about something,Twitter lets you network with like-minded people and promote yourself, but it is not about a hard sell at all.
Because Twitter will probably function more as a supplement to the marketing of your business, I recommend having a blog to which you can drive traffic to.
I also advise that you ( the business owner) be the voice behind the updates to ensure the voice is authentic. Twitter is a huge traffic booster if you have relevant items on there.
I initially started using Twitter to promote my business, but now rarely do.I do talk about better and more helpful topics. I try to make my Tweets useful to whomever is reading them.
