What is Social Marketing?

Good quality Social Networking sites will last for many years yet, such as this one and many others... I am thinking to build one, hope it is not too late. I do have a niche and I think niche sites are those who will rock in the next few years.
What do you think?

Interesting read! I for one came to Apsense, in particular, to start promoting my business but also to make new friends. I lost my job of 17 years, was depressed, and Apsense, among other social networks brought me back to life. Positive feedback is very important. Nasty, negative remarks are not so good so I wish that anyone having really negative comments would keep them to themselves. I've only had one of those, thank God.
