Why Does Wikipedia Hate Direct Selling or Multi Level Marketing

For those of you who do not know this, ummmm, okay, so I was one of those that didn't know until I looked it up on Wikipedia; Direct Selling, Multi Level Marketing, and Network Marketing all basically mean the same thing. What is disheartening news is that the concensus opinion of the "Wiki" community tend to portray most businesses in this industry in a negative light. This is so unfortunate as the network marketing field has so much potential for helping people build wealth. It is sad that the opinion is so one sided.

I must admit that there are definitely enough scams out there to speak of, but it seems quite unfair to lump all the group of direct selling opportunities into the same pile. But just so you can see this in it's true light not "Wikipedia Light", by their own admission "Wikipedia is a free,[3]web-based, collaborative, multilingualencyclopedia project supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its 16 million articles (over 3.4 million in English) have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world, and almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone with access to the site..", (taken from the Wikipedia website). I suppose that more direct selling experts should spend a little collaborative time of their own to bring a more balanced picture to the "Wiki" world.

As I was researching on the terms "direct selling, "multi level marketing" and "network marketing" - I came across a You Tube video that basically balances out this bad press.
