Growing tomatoes is basically quite easy, but it is watching those pests and blights that cause the most problems during the growing cycle.

Tomatoes like warm climates but will grow in cooler climates and that may affect the variety that you choose and also the timing of the planting. When planning on planting tomatoes take into consideration that the outdoor temperature needs to be between 65?F to 85?F during the day and no cooler than 60?F at night before you put the first plants in the ground. Seedlings should be planted about 18 inches apart so that they have air flow around them when they are mature. Some of the very large bushes may need to even be planted 36 inches apart. Air flow is important for strong tomato growth and this is why the space is needed between plants.

Tomato plants love and do require, a minimum of 6 hours sunshine a day and they need to have a consistent supply of water. A good system for the watering is to have an automated system set up so that you can be assured that they will get watered each and every day and early in the morning which is the best time to water.
You can't keep your plant totally insect free, but you can prevent it. You can pick out horn-worm while they're small.

With right amount of water and fertilizer and the right times to fertilize it, you'll make healthy delicious tomatoes. One important fact to keep in mind is that tomatoes belong to the poisonous nightshade family. So just use the fruits and get rid of the leaves.
