How do you separate yourself from the competition?
by Dawn HansenToday
we're living in an Internet world. Think about it; whatever product or
service you sell or represent can be found online better, cheaper and
from someone else in less than 20 seconds and two clicks of a mouse. So
what is it, I ask you, that separates you from your competition?
You spend time friend requesting, joining groups, presenting your
opportunity or business to other people, emailing, cold calling, holding
events and webinars, offering free samples, ebooks, videos, reports
etc?but do you realize this is what everyone else is doing too?
I admit, I was doing the same thing and not receiving the results I was
hoping for until I changed my marketing techniques. Rather than
present my business to people I had just met online or ask them to
visit my website, I began reading their profiles, asking questions,
looking at their business and finding ways I could help them.
Here?s an example of something fun I did a couple weeks ago?
I had a gentlemen friend request me and after looking at his profile, I
noticed he had several photo albums of his family and had recently
posted pictures of their vacation. I asked him what his postal address
was and told him I wanted to send him a sample card. I then copied his
pictures and placed them in the card, with borders and a note saying ?
This is just some of the fun things you can do with Send Out Cards.
Looks like it was a great vacation! I then placed my contact information
at the bottom of the card and thanked him for allowing me to send him
the sample. He called me a few days later and said how impressed he and
his wife were with the card and thanked me for sending it. He said
they had been approached before by several people in Send Out Cards,
but had always said they weren?t interested.
They signed up as an Entrepreneur that day and have been showing the
card to other people, thus recruiting more people into their primary
business and their Send Out Cards business.
What was my Return on the investment?
The card cost me $1.24 with postage to send and about 5 minutes of my
time. I earned $240 in commission for their initial membership and $100
on each of the 6 people they have partnered with so far for a total of
$840. Plus?I have built a solid business relationship and continue to
support and mentor their team. I also receive monthly residuals on all
the cards, gifts and gifts cards that their entire organization sends
out.
Was this worth my time and effort? Definitely! Think about what 1 new
person is worth to you. I was able to sponsor them into my team and
separate myself from my competition by doing something completely
different.
So again?I ask you, what are you doing to separate yourself from your competition?
