D's Guitar Reviews

Spectacular looks, high-end craftsmanship and killer tone. These are the heart and soul of the Jackson RR3. The signature fruit of cooperation of Randy Rhoads and the extraordinary luthiers at Jackson, this instrument features double Duncan humbuckers, a Floyd-Rose licensed double-locking tremolo, and playing comfort to match up with its original design.

The comfortable, responsive incredibely low action across the rosewood fretboard's twenty-two jumbo frets certainly begs to be in touch with, and the breath-taking definition from the Seymour Duncans certainly make this product a real shooter in your evil toolbox, in specific if you love to get some big drive and crunch in your tone. The Jackson RR3 six string splendidly pushes great definition via even the most saturated of distortion stompboxes (I normally play one using a POD X3 and a Krank Krankenstein), making this a perfect choice if you possess a penchant for sinister music genres.

Every single aspect of the RR3 is completely Jackson. From the sharkfin-style inlays on the fingerboard to their unique headstock, I?ve truly loved the way this instrument has just as much as the way it plays. And performing a lot of metal and edgy stuff, it?s really had a decent stage presence at my last couple of gigs.

Overall, I?d give the Jackson RR3 an 8 out of 10 score. It?s scary-looking, great-sounding, and features the sort of Jackson craftsmanship I?ve learned to expect from about 10 years of actively playing. If you haven?t ever tried a Jackson, definitely give the Jackson RR3 a try next time you may be in your nearby store; you will probably get somewhat spoiled.
