A steady stream of website traffic is key if you are going to make any money from your niche marketing sites

These are some of the methods I am currently using to get traffic to my websites

Optimizing For The Search Engines. Clearly a must do. A little tricky with the ever shifting algorithms though. Looking at the sites that dominate the really profitable search phrases, I have noticed a pattern. It appears website age is becoming a really important factor in SEO. Yeah, we knew it was a factor but it seems to have great importance attached to it.

Backlinks
Probably should be under SEO but it's such a big deal it merits a mention all of it's own. The only links worth getting are links that are likely to survive the duration. There really is no point in getting backlinks that will be gone within a week or two. So it's okay to use your website address in your signature on the forums and in the articles you circulate. But also start writing content on your sites that others will want to link to as a matter of course

Video Marketing
An underutilized resource. And very effective. Video marketing does not mean you standing in front of a camera addressing to your audience. There are so many easy ways to create videos these days, its not a big ask. Disperse your videos to the video directories like Youtube and video mogul. If your video catches the imagination, it can go viral pretty quickly. Camtasia is a robust and easy to use video recording software. To use the video to get traffic to your website, you could either watermark it with the URL of your website or add your URL to the more info section of the video

Article marketing
One method I have always used with respectable results. Article marketing requires writing good quality articles on some aspect of your business and submitting the article to a good article directory. I tend to use ezinearticles because it is popular and the articles there are vetted before publication.  However you have a wide variety of options. Again, the articles need to be of decent quality, original and share useful info. If the articles are of poor quality, it reflects badly on the repute of your website. In the biobox or about the author section, you are permitted to include a link to your site. This is great for search engine optimization if the links have the 'do follow' attribute, but also useful for direct visitors if the articles are of really good quality

Social Networking
I'll be honest with you on this one. You need to have spent some time establishing reputation at the social bookmarking sites before they will send you any traffic. By that I mean traffic that is interested in your content and meaningful, seamless traffic. Make friends at these sites, give useful advice. Post useful comments on other peoples profiles. Takes time but really a great way to get traffic that converts. Again with the social networking sites, a niche centered one has the greatest probability of conversions. But if not a popular site like twitter or facebook are decent options
