Affiliate marketing has always been considered to be something a very easy task, simply signup with number of vendors, own a website and post links of these vendors on your website and all set, you?re ready to go. Sit behind and watch the inflow of money to your account.

Is it really that simple and easy way of generating money? If its so then why shouldn?t we all stop doing 9 to 5 jobs and enjoy an entrepreneurship status.

The fact is that as more and more people are getting aware of the use of internet, the severe the competition has become for Affiliate Marketers. Gone are the days when owning a website was considered to be the key for an Effective Affiliate Marketer. Why? Simply because today everyone who has an easy access to a computer and an internet can manage to get a website of his own, all for free. There are thousands of websites available offering free domains and website hosting facilities along with easy to use website building wizards.

I do not believe in Phrases attracting any Affiliate Marketer by claiming: "Earn while You Sleep"; "Easy cash inflow"; "Work at the Convenience of Your Own Time"; "Be Your Own Boss at Zero Investment"; "Become an Entrepreneur at Zero Cost"; and many more.

I think we should know that today almost everyone is well aware of these affiliate programs and want to make full use of it and so the competition has become very tough. Today, if you want to be successful in this field, I think you have to equally devote your time and money. Those who think that simply hosting/publishing a website is enough and the cash would start to inflow without them making any kind of effort. I would suggest that they are living in the fools? paradise.

An Affiliate?s website is not like a newly opened customary shop in a locality which needs not to put too much effort for its advertisement because of the fact that people are usually already familiar with their offered products and their brands. Further, they transaction is very simple between the shopkeeper and the customer. Customers immediately take the goods/services with them in exchange for hard cash or virtual cash. For an Affiliate the situation is totally different. His appearance and offers are totally virtual in nature and are not immediately available for on spot delivery. An Affiliate doesn?t have any physical locality, and his customers are the whole internet users? community.  Hence, he has two major goals before him. First, he needs his website to be well-known among a large internet community, second to develop a trust on his website among this community which is not easy if he is offering products or services of un-known brands.

I am of the opinion that today to promote their website these Affiliate Marketers can never be successful if they adopt traditional marketing approach. They must possess not only traditional marketing skills but they should equally possess good effective writing skills to persuasively attract a targeted audience to their website. They should be willing to devote their time writing blogs, making discussions, chatting with anonymous people promoting their parent company products/services. This is required simply to distinguish them from the rest in the same line of business.

If you observe that companies offering affiliations of their products/services do not require too high standards for affiliation. Why? Because it costs them nothing except for one time cost of developing/designing a program for management of affiliate records. Further, it is note worthy that they pay their affiliate a commission only when a prospective customer(s) signup or make purchases from their links. In this way the parent company gets itself at an advantage by transferring their advertising costs on the shoulders of their Affiliate Marketer. Remember, this Affiliate Marketer is not one in number but thousands in number who are competing each other to attract sales through their links.

In short, to reach a huge number of audience and to make them aware of their business, these Affiliate Marketers adopt a number of techniques, like advertising on other websites (which requires money), exchanging banners/text ads with other websites, writing blogs promoting their business and their company products (it requires time), discussing their business on different online forums (Again time is required), chatting and messaging those in their Social contacts on different social network sites ( Again this require time and effort), etc.

Let's finally conclude that claiming easy cash inflow for these Affiliate Marketers is not true. In fact it is a full time job for those who do not have enough money to invest in advertisements to promote their business, because they need to adopt alternative methods which require lot of time and efforts. It is very well an open secret now, those who can not make effort, devote time, can not write effective materials to attract people, they are destined to loose soon and leave from the competition.

Thanks
