1. Check the update time of this website
Some websites display their updatetime in the page, but most of them dosen't. If a website is a news site or blog site, we may want to know the website's updata time in order to get the new items. We can get that directly from our IE.
Enter "javascript:alert(document.lastModified)" in the addressbar and press Enter, IE will show you the result.
2 Access hard disk with IE
As we know, enter "My Computer" in the IE address bar and press Enter, we'll open "My Computer" folder, and if we enter "C:", IE will open the C disk after pressing Enter. But if we are in a cyber bar and some cyberbar manager software will limite our access to hard disk.
If you still want to browse some files saved at hard disk, you can enter "file:///::%7B20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D%7D" in the address bar and press Enter to enter My Computer, or you can enter "javascript:window.open("c:")" in the address bar to access C disk.
3 Get the number of pages this explorer opened
Enter "javascript:alert(history.length)" in the address bar and press Enter, IE will show you a window which display the number of pages this explorer opened. Because Google Chrome use IE kernel, we can use this command at Chrome too.
4 Browsein incognito window
All the browsers will remember the address you have browsed, so many browsers create incognito pattern for your privacy, we can also make IE not remember our address.
Press "Ctrl + O", enter the address in the pop up window and press Enter to browse, then IE will not remember that address for you.
Note that not all the tips above can be used in Chrome browser. Just download a new version Internet Explorer and enjoy your browsing!
