Universal Thruths
These principles are the result of a lifetime of research and application of these universal truths, by my mentor Howard Adams.
I was privileged to be granted a three year scholarship at the Gestalt Institute, Australia and have witnessed the effectiveness of these principles first-hand. Each and every principle listed
is designed to stand the test of time and application in both human psychology and Universal Law.
I recommend you copy and study them.

Gestalt Principles:
1. The part is controlled by laws inherent in the whole.
2. Parts can only be comprehended in terms of the whole
3. The wholeness of man is the sum of all that is both active and potential in each human individual
4. A Gestalt is a complete cycle of action moving from rest to rest.
5. A thing is true only in the frame of reference in which it is proposed or out of which it arises.
6. Figure and background are complementary; change the figure, the background changes, change the background, the figure changes.
7. A thing which is fully known disappears
8. The continuing reality of the human situation is INTELLIGENCE, which, in a state of stillness, includes energy within itself.
9. The basis of all manifestation in the phenomenal universe is the direction of energy by intelligence, both active and potential. Only intelligence can direct energy.
10. The direction of energy by intelligence as awareness results in structure, which is a functional need arising from the activation of potential.
11. All living things have potential, and a Gestalt is the unit of activation of potential or growth.
12. Behaviour is the product of the situational facts, and the structure of the person
13. If Behaviour is not appropriate to the situation the structure of the person is such that they
are projecting another situation onto the here and now reality.
14. There is no conflict between truth and error, only between two errors.
15. If action is initiated out of confusion it will result in conflict, which will result in sorrow, out of which a process of revision in made.
16. Do not begin to think or act unless you are in contact with an experiencable reality.
17. All error and evil contain within themselves the seed of their own destruction.
18. There are only two primary forces, the cohesive and the dispersive, which come into being equally in any balanced system. Psychologically this is the balance between unity or integration and freedom or separateness, necessary to a growthful relationship.
19. Violence is delayed action; shock is delayed perception; anger is frustrated initiative; fear is being out of touch with reality.
20. Rationalisation is justification for pathology; do not tolerate pathology. Toleration of pathology makes you an accessory to another's self destruction.
All neurosis is self defeating.
21. A neurotic need is recognized since it grows by satiation; a growth need satiates and changes.
22. There are two kinds of reality, objective and existential. As object a thing can be fully known here and now. A living thing is an existential process which exists as object, but which can only be fully known as its existence extends in time.
23. To dichotomise is to pathologise.
24. The adversary situation arises where a polarization emerges from a dichotomy, and the 'other' is identified as enemy.
25. No two human beings have any significant conflict of interests, since they are activating a common potential by the same process,
and are inter-dependent in a common environment. Humanity must not be sacrificed for survival.
26. The pursuit of excellence is the dominant motivation in nature and man; competition is a game invented by man.
27. The wholeness dynamic manifests in three ways: as survival, as the procreative urge or sexuality, and as the movement toward the completion of the human process.
28. A game is where man makes the rules; Reality is where Life makes the rules.
29. The status quo is maintained by negative action; failure to act when action is required for growth results
in social and personal problems and destroys initiative.
30. Social responsibility is total and indivisible.
31. Any action performed out of external pressure or influence is conditioning or limiting; any action performed from individual initiative out of present understanding is liberating and growthful, even if it is a mistake.
32. The end is the beginning of all things suppressed and hidden.
33. There are no stupid people, only intelligent beings behaving stupidly at the time.
There are no bad people, only good people behaving badly at the time.
34. The word is not the thing; communication is only complete when it leads to communion, a central regulatory model, and recursive levels.
35. No human value can be derived from comparison.
36. Anything which can happen will happen sooner or later. Potential will manifest when the conditions of its manifestation are satisfied.
37. All living things grow from within; all artifacts are created by the assembly of external resources.
38. Truth is self supporting; illusions must be maintained.
39. Man is a truth machine, his energy states vary with his contact with reality.
40. We cannot lose what we have, but anything which can die, must die.
41. Accuracy is the result of keen observation and an increasingly holistic perspective, in continuous alteration.
42. To move forward we must intensify our lives and our relationships to make them more complete. From intensity grows detachment, from detachment grows the full flame of self-consciousness and awareness; through this, truth and completeness are known.
43. The removal of disorder is the establishment of order. Order cannot be imposed on disorder, personally or socially.
44. Reversal is the condition of continuity.
45. All social power rests on agreement.. Strength is inherent in the person, but power and authority are give4n or withdrawn.
46. Think alone and work together. Attention by time equals mass.
47. A Gestaltist is one who recognizes these principals and psychological facts, and endevours to live by them, facilitating the health and growth of others.
