StreetDb.com - A great street directory tool for Singapore maps
With users not being able to use streetdirectory.com, i went looking for an alternative.
I just by chance happen to come across streetdb.com. And what a brilliant and very useful website it is.
On the front page, it looks very simple. Until you type in the address or building you want to search. The search results come with a lot of options for you to filter through.
The best part for me is that you can actually see where the nearest bus stops & mrt stations are in relation to the place where you want to go.
Another very useful thing is the maps shown on the site includes HDB blk numbers & building names. Most map websites I see on the net only display road names & some buildings. But with streetdb you get all the HDB blk numbers in Singapore. You'll never get lost for sure. A lot of Singaporeans travel from one HDB flat to another by bus, especially during festive seasons like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Deepavali. So streetdb is really a saviour for us all.
And for Singapore expats/expatriates and businessmen travelling to Singapore, streetdb.com is also very useful. It provides lots of other information that can really help you in your business travel like ATM machines, Foreign Embassy and Condominium/Apartment locations. If you are having a meeting with any of our (Singapore Asia Trading) business associates, you know which website to use to look for the meeting locations.
I would like to suggest that StreetDb programmers improve the ability for maps to be shown on the mobile phone, so you can access the map anywhere you are and really never get lost. Other than that the site is almost perfect.
