Marketing GOOD Products And Services In A BAD Economy!
To make this short and sweet and invite comments from fellow Networkers and Marketers; I'll just dive right on into the crux of the matter.
First of all, it must be realized that ALL businesses have to advertise. Even specialty businesses have to advertise to some degree in order to let potential patrons know about their products and services. IF a company can no longer afford to advertise, it is done as a business PERIOD. It is the first thing that must be done once a business opens its doors, and the last thing to stop before closing them. So, knowing that advertising is an important element of business, it only serves to reason that as long as there IS AN ECONOMY, businesses MUST depend on advertising! Now onward into the discussion about the Right Products and Services to market in a Bad economy.
With advertisng itself being both a comodity and an industry in real terms, it is somewhat logical to imagine that the fastest way to get ahead in the business world; would be to get involved in products and services that appeal to the masses, and serves general business purposes which is to increase profits. Its always an added plus if you are involved in things that give YOUR customers an edge over their competitors as well! Another attribute would be to be able to market your products and services with good advertising, online AND offline. I find it refreshing; not to have to dip into my advertising budget when things seem a bit slow, and just pick up my local telephone book and make a few calls to local businesses.
By being a member in the Aspense Community, you and I are in the unique positions of being able to offer other people a FREE BUSINESS WEBSITE if we find they should need or desire one. Of course, by having them come through us, we get paid to bring them on board as affiliates of Aspense. Its important that we let them know about this business-site opportunity and show them how to do/offer this to others too. This way, they can help anyone who visits their new site to obtain and have a FREE BUSINESS WEBSITE too! This leads me back to the general discussion.
So, if I can help a local business owner (offline) to get a free business website that we both can make money from, wouldn't it help things along much further if I showed that business owner ways to enhance their site (i.e."Site Enhancers"), promote alternatives to the enhancements of whatever they decided to use for themselves, and also a new form of advertising that gets them (and myself) paid every time someone looks at their site for just a couple of seconds?!?
THESE things are among the products and services I offer on my website here at Aspense. They aren't all I offer, but they are there for the serious and ambitous people who really want to make a lot of money or who may own a small street business to consider. There are also many things on the site to help new people succeed and enjoy their internet experience as they begin to make substantial income streams grow for themselves. I like to stress to them that many of the things they need are FREE!
Again (I'm sure you've heard it before), that the key here is; that by "helping others, we can help ourselves". This is an old adage being used by certain website programs now, but its true. However, if you just sell a dream, without really trying to explain to your prospects anything beyond the potential, it is my opinion you are only concerned with yourself.
I find it's much better to get into the core of matters as much as you can or need to (if the product or service won't) and really help people to succeed in order to gain your own success! A good way to do this is to "simplify" things for them as much as possible. "You Reap What You Sow"; so don't "sow weeds" or you'll get back a full crop of them!
I promote programs and companies that basically understand this, or do not cross the line into deception too much in their own advertising. Be bold in your advertising, as long as you know what you are talking about! Otherwise, just be as honest, helpful and hopeful as you can about the products and or services you offer as you can. This will help you to gain trust and maybe valuable advice from someone willing to help you out down the road.
"Mean what you say, and say what you mean!" Truthfulness in advertising is ALWAYS a BIG PLUS ATTRIBUTE and ALWAYS creates more business by customer referrals; because the consumer got what they expected AND OR beyond what they expected; AND ALL as just another everyday part of THAT company's standards! This goes a real long way in everybody's book! Even crooks like to be treated "more than fair" in THEIR PERSONAL business dealings with others for themselves!
