What does a mentor do?

Over and over again we try to define a mentor. What does being a mentor mean to you? Did you say a mentor is someone who interacts with someone else in showing them many ways on how to do certain things? i.e. New Internet marketers comes along join programs and is not quite sure as to how to be actively involve in affiliate programs. Now here you are on the other side knows the affiliate program in and out. What do you do? Do you continue to be selfish and ignore the newbie’s? Or do you interact with them offering some assistance and guide them throughout the entire program.

There are many different types of mentoring so becoming a mentor can be understood to each one of us in many different ways. • To me a mentor is someone who listens to the questions and concerns being asked by members of the program and offers encouragement for a job well done. A mentor could also be someone that have the ability to discuss and resolve any difficulties one may have, a mentor can and should be able to share ideas and experiences along with full knowledge of the program. A mentor at all times should offer help and assistance to help keep their members on track by keeping in contact with them daily by weekly or monthly to see how they are doing or what their doing. But most of all a mentor should be independent and never get to personal with anyone. • Keep in mind that mentors are not teachers, substitute parents, a source of finance nor a counselor even though mentors can play the part by which was mentioned above in the first bullet point.
