This article will teach you some basic communication skills in order to learn how to promote your business opportunity through Instant Messenger services (IMs). Most networkers, usually, contact people through email when they express interest in their business opportunity. Less often, network marketers call prospects directly for a better and more personal communication. This method is also known as cold-calling! Although calling to prospects is the most effective way to get sign ups, most networkers don't prefer this method, because either they cannot afford long-distance calls or don't feel comfortable talking to strangers.

But have you ever used your IM not only for chatting with friends, but also to promote your business? I know that most of you haven't. However you would be amazed of the incredible results this method generates, if worked properly.

So, I would suggest, if you don't use an IM service to download one right away. This article will show you how chatting will your prospects in real time can make you good money within 2-3 weeks. I know that you will be amazed of the results, just like I was, when I first started doing this!

SEND OUT INVITATIONS WITHOUT LINKS

So, get your feets off the ground and take some action NOW! Begin inviting people to your IMs without showing them your website or saying anything about your business in your invitation. Why? Wouldn't it be better if you told them about your site and then if they were interested they would contact you? I'm sorry - that just doesn't work. Look, right now they don't know who you are.. and they don't care. People don't care who you are and what you want them to do. They care about what motivates them - not what motivates you. You will get them interested in you and you will stir up their interest in your business - once you make the initial contact and get to know about them. You want to know what their level of commitment is, you want to INTERVIEW THEM to see if they are the material you can work with. You can't help some people make money. They aren't serious about it. They won't do the work. You don't want to waste your time. So you want to pre-qualify them, just like any employer would do. Do they have what it takes in commitment, money and time to do your business? What are their goals & dreams? Can you help them reach them through your business? You will only know after you have talked with them and asked the right questions. You can learn a lot about them and their work ethic from those conversations.

WHERE WILL I FIND PEOPLE TO SEND INVITATIONS TO?

You are a member of Apsense, so you are able to contact hundreds of other Apsense members from all over the world. Apsense is one of the fastest growing networking sites and hundreds of new members join every day. If used correctly you will have more than enough contacts to work for quite some time. There are also lots of similar social networking sites out there. You could do a search and find for yourself. It is very important that you get a picture and add it to your Apsense profile and IMs. People are very visual and you would be amazed at how much this one simple thing will boost enrollments (even if you don't look like Mr., Miss, or Ms Universe)!!! You should be sending out a minimum of 100 invitations a day if you expect success. Even 300 per day is not unreasonable. The more people you contact, the higher your closing ratios and conversions to sign-ups will be.

WHAT DO I SAY? WHAT DO I DO?

As contacts join your Instant Messenger's, they will click on to you or you will click on to them and open a conversation. I know maybe you are cringing right now saying, "You mean NOW I have to get online, talk to a real person?"
Well, truthfully you don't have to do anything you don't want to do, but if you want to make money this month, and move your business into profit, you will learn how to use personal communication to build rapport, to establish relationships, to get enrollments. Remember, these are not cold calls. This is a contact with a fellow Apsense member. They specifically joined one of the greatest networking sites to find and network with business associates and they are responding to an invitation you sent to them.

GENERAL TRAINING?

You should ALWAYS appear BUSY, SUCCESSFULL, and EXCITED. Think about some of the businesses you have called. Don't you dislike that monotone, bored "Stone & Sons." The receptionist often sounds like you just interrupted the funeral. Don't you like it when someone sounds ALIVE and glad you called? People don't want to feel you are desperate to get their business (oh my - is your company so bad you couldn't get anyone else?). Some of you think, "but I just started... I'm NOT busy, I'm NOT successfull and SCARED is a better word than excited. If I act busy, successful and excited isn't that like lying?" You think you are being real sanctimonious don't you? You're not. That's your fear talking to you. No, you are not lying. You are being considerate, gracious and -- yes, honest. Yes, you certainly are busy - you have x amount of time you have alloted to spend on your new business and 80% of that time MUST be spent prospecting if you are to be successful. You have sent out 100 to 300 mails today and every day you are getting more and more responses. You're busy all right. Successfull? Isn't your business successfull? If you don't have your own personal story yet, someone in your business has made money. Projecting success is a matter of faith in what you are doing and what your company can provide. "But, I just started, and they want to know if I have made money!" Let me give you some good, solid sales advice. Facts tell. Stories sell. First off, that question is rude and personal. Don't get into an argument about it though. But never answer with facts. Never answer with benefits. Answer with a STORY that demonstrates results. That's what they really want to know. They don't care how much you make. They want to know if they can make money. Be honest. If you just started, say so. Say something like “well, you know I just started in this and it's going very well for me so far - I'm making the contacts and progressing as I expected - I'll tell you what impressed me”. (Then give some of the testimonials from your company's literature that shows the money to be made with this company). Are those the kind of results you are looking for or not? Some people are very rude and will say something like: "but how much are you making? Have you made anything yet?" Or they'll say, "well I want to wait and see. Let me know how you do." Tell them you are only looking to work with serious investors and that the figures you have given them shows the company is a good investment. It is not a get rich scheme which seems to be what they are hoping for -- and terminate the conversation. If they are serious, they will be ready to close and will stop you from leaving them. If not, you have saved yourself time and the heartache of losing them by the end of the month anyway. Serious investors and business builders don't play the 'promise me I'll make x amount of dollars' game.

PRACTICE AND PRACTICE AGAIN!

Practice your conversations and come up with all the objections and answers you can think of until you can do a good, realistic one within about 10 minutes. Of course a prospect may cause the actual conversation to run longer, but your major points should not take very much time to run through.
