Travel and Tourism

TOURISM is normally defined as the activities of a person or persons travelling and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business or other purposes. But there is more to the conventional definition of tourism in different segments of this industry i.e., adventure tourism, agricultural tourism, backpacker tourism, cultural tourism, ecological tourism (ecotourism), mass or mainstream tourism, medical tourism, nature tourism, religious tourism, shopping tourism (Malaysian Business, 2002).
