Identity Theft to a Moroccan Prince
Today I read in a ne ws (CNN) about a Moroccan prince identity being stolen at Facebook. Facebook, like Myspace.com, is a social networking site that allows friends to connect with one another, upload photos and share links. It boasts more than 60 million active users.
Let me enlighten you with what is Identity Theft. Identity theft statistics are quoted frequently today, often confusing and scaring more than helping. At least part of the complication is created because government statistics combine two different problems: payment fraud and identity theft. Identity theft, however, is an entirely different matter, usually involving new accounts opened in your name that may be difficult to track or identify in the first place. Read about this at my previous post last year in July, Identity Theft Facts and Top 5 Prevention Tips.
Pertaining to this recent news, I have search on how this works so that we could be extra careful. I have found a site that will educate us all. It is about How Identity Theft Works
