H.M. Soeharto, may he rest in peace
Sunday, January 27th, 2008 the 2nd former Indonesian president, H. M. Soeharto was died after 24 days of treatment in Pertamina Central Hospital, South Jakarta. On Monday, his body was burried in Astana Giribangun, Karanganyar, Central Java, close to the grave of his wife, Siti Hartinah Soeharto who was died before in 1996.
He was born in a rural village named Kemusuk, in Bantul Jogjakarta on Juny 8th, 1921 as a single son of a pure Javanese farmer. Military was his mean carrier of his life as he was the leader of the "6 hours war" in Jogja on March 1st, 1949 proving that Indonesian army was still exist, and so was the Indonesian government.
He was the man who led Indonesian people to an era called "new order". He was always smiley, and very popular amongst farmers and fisherman. People called him "The Smiling General". Although there is still controversy about him as many problems during his periode of presidency, he was the big person of Indonesian people.
Now, he is smiling along his journey to his creator.
