And the food was actually good! I miss those days. We used to love going to Woolworths it was in the main shopping center. And if you couldn't find what you needed in Woolworth's it was a short walk to the new addition to get to Woolco.

Of course if those two stops didn't work you could always hit Rose's or Grant's

Brought my first plastic flowers there, drank my first 7Up there. Memories............

They did have one heck of a good lunch counter! :) People had fits when they finally closed closed down... This was the final blow to a great cheap lunch for a lot of workers, especially if you happened to work in the downtown areas, and you only had 30 minutes for lunch... Woolco, could get you a platter in record time... I still don't know how they did it... Fast service with only a few people and maybe two good short order cooks... hmmm.

I'll take that as a compliment but I still remember the Old five and dime. we used to hit the luncheon counter ever time we went there.
