Please HELP ME! I Can't Stop HOOKING! LOL! The Hidden Danger For Those Who Love Fishing!
Ever since we were young boys and girls, some of our grownups made certain that we were introduced to the relaxing and proper art of fishing...
As we grew older and learned how to handle our little rods, it made us more and more comfortable and suddenly, we have found ourselves a "Hot Topic" among Master Debators everywhere....
How could our folks have known that we would become lifelong Hookers, addicted to the pursuit of these scaly, unclad, and emphemeral creatures?
Up at the crack of Dawn ( Or anybody else who's crazy enough to go with me...), in sometimes freezing weather, looking for Love in the shape of a curvy and sizable member of the salmon family or other...
I have tried to break this sensuous grip, with little success...
I even tried Needlepointing as an intensely powerful palliative, but as it turns out, my "Pro Stitch Tutor" was a former Hooker... And my very presence sent her right back into hole... (That's fishing talk for "pond"), she grabbed her baitbox, and started looking for stocking reports ( Fishnets, no doubt...)... Oh, what's to become of me?
In the dead of Winter, walking across a frozen lake, at 4AM... I finally realized that I needed help... Or perhaps it was the shock of freezing cold water invading my thermal underwear, when it turned out that the lake wasn't as frozen as I thought...
One of the many signs that you are a confirmed Hooker, is that when you are aboard a fishing boat that about to leave the dock, and the boat's Mate yells "Heave Ho!"... You suddenly think that they are going to throw you overboard... well that says it all...
Of course that are worse things to become addicted to, but being a Hooker can be really downright embarrassing... I mean comparing and bragging about the length and girth of your catches in public... How deep they were, and how hard it was... Sometimes just might not be the kind of impression that you want to leave with others.
Are you a confirmed Hooker? Or do you know a Hooker who need helps help? Don't wait for a line to be thrown to you.... Come here and talk about it! :)

It's the sexy side of fishing that always gets me! LOL! :) I love to go fishing with my Ladies... Something about 'Hooking" always hightens their sensuality.
When I go fishing with guys, it alway turns into a COMPETITION of some kind... Not a bother because I always manage to win, in most cases...
I absolutely LOVE going fishing with Women, especially when they hook into a Big One... I can tell you guys... It's an Aphrodisiac, if there ever was one! :)
Agreed?

I used to swear by my lucky hooker & cork...lol. I once caught a big one right out of a mud hole, on a dare that it could not be done.
I do know a profesional hooker..lol. A girl. She will fillet like nothing you have ever seen. Pulls right up in her truck and does it right in the back. She talks about the "big one", the girth, the length and the stamina all the time, and has lots of photos to stand by her word.
Okay..what were we talking about.? Oh yea...fishing..ha...ha.

A redneck was stopped by a game warden in Central Mississippi recently with two ice chests full of fish. He was leavin' a cove well-known for its fishing. The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?" "Naw, sir", replied the redneck. "I ain't got none of them there licenses. You must understand, these here are my pet fish." "Pet fish?" "Yeah. Every night, I take these here fish down to the lake and let 'em swim 'round for awhile. Then, when I whis

Was just thinking and wondering
Is there a different method of cleaning fresh water fish that salt water fish
When I caught a Permit (salt water) the dude next to me told me I had to bleed it out first and then soak it in salt water for approx 1 hour.
Wonder why one would have to do that Does it perhaps change the colour of the meat or contaminate it in some way
Do you realize how hard it is to fillet a fish that is round and flat LOL

Generally we would be going after Perch and Bass... But the main river didn't freeze and probably won't so I'll see if I can catch something in open water... Catfish, Walleye, Pike, Muskies and so on! :)

Global Warming is a definite reality. Even now we can't go ice fishing yet as the lakes are still slushy and not truly frozen.
Being from Northern Ontario you would think they woul be. Weather even today is more like spring than Jan weather.
What are you fishing for. We have a variety pack up here. From specs to pickerel, pike, lake trout etc

The 4AM start is so you can get on the ice before all of a 1000 yahoo's bring their SUV's and shacks... Ice fishing is really a crowded sport these days because the number of lakes that actually freeze have been going down fast... Global Warming is a reality.

Whew for a 2nd there I thought I was the only strange one.
You are aware that 4 am is just an awful hour to go fishing LOL You do know they bite just in the afternoon or evening
I like starting at the crack of noon

We used household buckets and trashcans... I loved to cast and cast all day and into the night until it was hard to see...
All that practice paid off when I caught a limit of fine Rainbows and Browns one day, and my my name in the newspapers and in the State's magazine! :)

Love the term "Proper Art of Fishing"
My Dad used save a pile of used tires. Never could figure out what they for Till one spring I saw him in the yard With the tires randomly placed all over the place.
Course he had a rod in his hands Curious I watched him as he told me to holler which tire to hit. He was bang on every time. I was stunned. Then Iran and got mine and he hollered out which one to hit.
If you did really well you got it in the middle So I would spend hours out there prac

We do indeed have streams and ponds with the crappiest fishing available. In this part of Texas you don't fish, you drown worms. For decent fishing you have to head over to Eastern Texas on the other side of Houston. Got some bayou country over there.

My Ladies have confirmed that Frozen Tuna is one heck of a 'Bracing" experience, Cheryl! :)
I thought for sure that there were some local streams and ponds in San Antonio... I'll PM you with some resources for information....
After all, It's my duty to support Hookers wherever they may be! LOL :)
