I may have had to read it as part of my junior cycle syllabus in school but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

To Kill a Mocking Bird will always have a lasting impression on me and I'm grateful that I had guidance in studying its deeper meaning. It opened my eyes to racism and justice and partly inspired me in chosing my profession (I'm a defence lawyer). Atticus Finch is one of my role models!
It also helped me learn things about myself in relating to the young Scout. I always ask why? (to the annoyance of some friends and most certainly my family) but I just seek to understand. I get angry at the mere thought of injustice and rage at hypocrisy. The Silence of witnesses scares me but I have learned to accept this.

To Kill a Mocking Bird is a powerful book and it helped shape me.
