I have a sort of a Love/Hate thing going on with oatmeal... I love what it actually does for me and my body, but I hate the fact that it has tried, on a couple of occasions, to violently attack me.... Oh well, that's the Life of a Kitchen Magician! LOL! :)

And what about PORRIDGE?? That ancient Scottish dish of boiled (yes boiled) oatmeal - served with butter and salt or honey or syrup! Just the thing to force feed your kids on a cold winter's day. I think they call it gruel in Scandinavia!!

I love home style steel cut oatmeal too. It's worth the extra time to prepare it. For extra fiber, and Omega 3, and like to add a couple of teaspoons of Ground Flax Meal to my oatmeal. It actually adds more nutty flavor too.
Don't forget to drink plenty of water too, to keep your system running smoothly.
I have a genectically high cholestrol, so oatmeal is always on my daily menu.
