PEW Research Study Results-Click Here
This was sent to me by my Shaklee upline along with links to several news articles that picked up on the study.
His opening line on the email was "Food for thought as we offer such a dynamic option for moms who want to work and take care of their families optimally." I agree with his statement completely...
I have always been an advocate of staying home with your children when they are young. Other than a few years of working part-time out of the house, I have always been fortunate enough to have had jobs that allowed me to work from home. When my children were younger this mostly meant sacrificing a certain lifestyle level because there were not as many options as there are these days but in the end, I feel the sacrifice paid for itself tenfold.
Today, with so many work-at-home programs available, your lifestyle level doesn't need to change when you have children.
The study shows us that times are changing, more options to work from home, or work part-time are becoming available, and more women are choosing that option over the difficult decision to work full time outside of the house.
Never would I judge anyone who works outside of the home as everyone's circumstances differ but good to see studies like this that show there are an increasing number that are wanting to find other options. The social stigma that stay-at-home moms had in the past is dissipating. I say "cheers" to that.
These types of studies will only fuel the businesses out there to come up with more options for parents. More options allow parents to make better choices, creates less stress, and results in happier families.
In the end, the KIDS win...I like that.
