Buying on the Internet, be it a product or service, can involve a certain amount of risk, one because you are usually buying sight unseen and two you do not know the seller, and I will leave out online payment systems.

The question I put to you is if someone sends you an e-mail saying you can earn $5,000 in the next month by joining his business what  do you do. You can just reject it as a scam or you can send for more details and so get added to the sellers list..

You can also check on the Internet to find out who else might be marketing the same product. I take this a stage further and do a who is search on their name, if I do not find then within the first few pages of Google I reject their offer, because if they are successful I will find a reference to them in Google.

Business Owners need to have a clear presence on the internet so potential customers and clients can easy find out more about them and develop trust. Too many people these days send out emails with no contact details and sometimes even no names. When you visit a website your contact details need to be clearly displayed.

One of the first things to do is either buy a domain name, use a free page, or blog and provide background data as who you are what you have done and what you are doing. If you are using a free page you need to make sure you have access to metatags.

Keywords are what drive the Internet so make sure you name is in the keywords and even your telephone number and city where you live. Also. if you have picture of yourself  put you name in the alt tag.

All websites, blog posts, articles, press releases and forum post need also to include your name as keywords if possible.

If you have a nickname you can include that. You will be amazed at how quicky links grow and where your name pops up. It will not take long before you are at or near the top of the pile.

Some names are easier than others to get top position, If you share the same name as a film star you might struggle to get to the first page. so you might wish to use an initial or second name.

Once your name is at the top you have certain bragging rights and  if someone want to know more about you tell them to look in google. I know a friend of mine has nearly the first four pages of Google filled with his name.

There is one caveat if you commit a misdemeanor and it reaches the internet it will be there for all to see.

Now  enter you own name in Google and do some searches on that and your telephone number plus  other data, you might get a few surprises
