Sad Day in ClevelandOhio, Today.

The pain may or may have not set in as of yet for all of the fans of the Cleveland Indians, some still can't believe what happened to there team.  The Boston Red Sox did it again this year coming back from being down 3 - 1. This team did it last year to the New York Yankee's, and this year to all of my friends from the Cleveland area. Sports can be the biggest roller coaster ride of emotions.  The ups and downs, the errors, the missed calls.

What makes a team so powerful then all of a sudden become a totally different team.  This happen to my beloved Blue Jays in 1985 when the Kansas City Royals did the same thing that the Red Sox's did to the Indians.  I remember the last game like it was yesterday, but it has been over 22 years since this happened.  The city was in total shock, couldn't understand what had just happened.  The beer didn't taste the same, nothing really matter in our minds other then what had just happened.  But the feeling in the other city was nothing but high five's, celebration and the whole city come a live, hugging strangers and doing things that would be impossible to get away with other then with a victory of this magnitude.

This may help the pain or may not but if you do recall back in 1985 what happened in the World Series, the fan’s started to celebrate like they hadn't done in over 70 plus years.  I am talking about the Red Sox fans here jumping up and down.  The all of a sudden a routine hit by Mookie Wilson towards first base, the fans now are really going crazy, smelling victory with this routine hit......"BUT" Bill Buckner miss plays it and Mookie is safe and the rest as they say is history.  Talk about a roller coaster ride of emotions, within seconds of being on top of the world to being in the pits. Think how Bill Buckner and his family felt and how the media, the fans and all New England population took it all out on Bill Buckner.....

If anything this may or may not help you with your emotions but it may also make you forget your pain for a bit. This is why baseball is such a wonderful sport it takes 162 games to make the playoffs and then one simple routine play can make your season come to an end.
