11 Best Apps to have for Road Trip

by Harris Thompson Writer

Ages ago, there was this time when people used to use actual paper maps. Remember? Me neither.  We cannot even visualize getting anywhere without using a map app in our phones. While a number of these apps built just for the sake of user-friendliness are bizarre, some of the ones built for the benefit of travel are tremendous.

Here are some of our favorite travel apps:

1.     GAS BUDDY – When visiting a new place for a day or a week, you will need gas. Chances are you are renting a car or taking your own car on the road. GAS Buddy will help you locate the most inexpensive gas station in your proximity.

2.     iEXIT –  We all wish we could just peep into the future. Despite the fact that we cannot change the future, the anxiousness remains the same. This app cannot tell you the future, but it can certainly tell you what you can expect at each exit/rest stop on your journey.

3.    TROVER –This app deals with pictures, hence it is pretty similar to a Instagram or Pinterest-style photo-travel app. It can be great resource if you are trying to find unseen gems in within the metropolis, or other exciting places along the way.

4.     ROADTRIPPERS – If you want to discover cool places, coordinate your trips, or save schedules, Roadtrippers is the app for you.  This app has an incredible interface which makes it user-friendly.

5.     FIELD TRIP – You can have countless apps on your smartphone, and as a consequence you may forget which one need while travelling. The most amazing feature of this app is that it notifies you whenever you come across something cool which needs to be explored or that is considered a popular destination.  You can also find food stops, historical spots, and exceptional pleasure stops only by proximity.

6.     YONDER – This is an interest-based app. You can select any outdoor activity you would be interested in, pick your location, and discover places you’d be able to do that activity nearby. You can also join travelers with similar interest in your marked area and share tips with photographs.

7.     DAY ONE – Day One is a pleasantly designed app for journaling which records the cool things you get to witness or do during your road trip. It also add pictures – how awesome!

8.     ROAD TRIP LITE – If you are one of those people who are very fastidious about the traveling distance and fuel usage, Road Trip Lite computes that information for you.  This would be a great app for you to track your car mileage and gas expenses all the way.

9.     TRIPIT – Tripit is like your personal travel agent, taking care of everything before you arrive at your destination. It takes all your tourism plans and reservation confirmation emails and generates a immaculate journey, all saved in one place.

10.  MAPS.ME – An offline maps app.  If you are not using AT&T home phone service, chances are you may undergo a lack of internet service during your journey. This app lets you download the map of your journey so that you can make use of it while you don’t have Wi-Fi or access to data.

11.  YELP – Last but definitely not the least, we all want to try variety of restaurants, explore popular attractions, or find the best emergency services depending upon the classification and location. Yelp lets you read reviews left by old customers and also see images added by other users.
