How to Get More Customers to Read Your Emails, Act on Your Offer, and Flock to Your Site?

Believe it or not, the majority of emails you send to your target audience
do NOT get read. Here's how to get People to Read Your Emails and Take Action.

First, let's face the brutal facts. Today, your audience is more likely to hit the delete key and your email has a greater chance of getting caught in
an over-zealous spam filter than just 6 months ago.
Email marketing is critical to your website's success - but with so many merchants using this medium, it's getting harder and harder to get your emails noticed. How do you make your emails stand out? In this tactic we'll share some powerful strategies for making your emails count.

Tracking Email Open Rates and Click through Rates Marketers measure the quality of their email marketing campaign with 2 major criteria - open rate and clickthrough rate.
Open rate is the percentage of emails sent that actually get opened. This measurement is a little inaccurate because an email that gets opened does not necessarily get read. Think back to how many times you opened an email only to realize it's spam and then hit the 'delete' key. Still, this measurement has some value - especially when you're testing subject lines in emails or testing your email content for spam filter compatibility (more on these later).
A more relevant measure is clickthrough rate (CTR). This measures how many people actually open your email and click on a link that brings them to your site to view your offer. This is the key goal of email marketing - to bring customers to your site.

PLEASE NOTE:
The Email Marketing Use and Trends Report: H1 2004 shows email
marketing performance by industry for the first half of 2004, based on
over 70 million opt-in email messages sent by MailerMailer customers.  The facts:     6.60% of the emails sent out bounce The average unique open rate for emails is only 26%.
Yes, 3/4 of emails from businesses do not get read.Among those that do read your email, 80% read it within

the first 48 hours of receiving the email. The average clickthrough rate is 4.27%. Simply put, 95%

of your customers will take no action on your offer.

The facts above vary by industry. But the results don't change by more

than a few percentage points (Click here for more information about the

study).
The key point is that less than 10% of your subscribers will read the

emails you send them. But it's not all bad... Because email response

rates are so there is plenty of room for improvement! Stay tuned for Part 2...Free Scholarships Now Avialable When You Join MIM
