The Spam nazi's are out in full force... WATCH out :: Beware :: You are being rated!!

07-26-07

I took a few days off to rest my eyes from the strain
of the monitor only to return to be confronted by
many changes.

It seems it isn't enough to delete spammers' posts
from your group. Now, if you have enough honor points,
(10 honor poins is the magic number!)
you can report spammers.

What if you have ZERO honor points and have a
spammer sending you messages and posting to your group
and being a total annoyance...how do you report this?

Funny, I'm not bothered by spammers. They've not spammed
my groups or over messaged me! Who is getting all this
spam?

I get messages from contacts/friends or unknown members who
have offers that are legitimate to send. I read them
I book mark some of them... I reply to most with a counter
offer! I call it Dueling Marketers! after the blue grass tune
dueling banjos... but... i try my best to take the edge off
and introduce the civil side of network marketing.

Hi & How are you works ... and then there's thanks for your
information... have you seen this? How's the family? Is that
really spain where that pic was taken? that sort of chat
whenever it occurs to you...

so...

I copied the following from the FAQ from Apsense

26) Do I have to own a business to become an
Apsense user?

No, you do not have to own a business to be an Apsense
user. In fact we have plans to expand to many other
industries other then the business industry in the near
future.

27) How is my spam rating calculated?

Every time a spam complaint is reported against you by a
user regarding the content of your subject, comment or
message your spam rating will decrease. Once your spam
rating is below 60% you will no longer be able to post
any subjects, comments or messages until you recover your
spam rating to above 60%.

Here's how your spam rating is calculated:
spam complaint per subject 10% decrease
Spam complaint per comment 10% decrease
spam complaint per message sent 20% decrease

28) How do I rebuild my spam rating?

Each week our system will add 10% to your total spam
rating score, so you can rebuild your spam rating.

29) Who can report spam?

To keep advice, discussions, and helpful information at
it's highest quality all group owners and administrators
recieving spam on their group subjects, and users who
recieve spam on their messages with more then 10 honor
points can report spam. Please note all messages older
then 14 days can not be reported as spam.

Hi Steve,

Yes, there was an initial excitement when Apsense launched. I did really well getting some sign ups and still am... but then I do help and build relationships as I'm promoting my businesses...

Yes, I know what you're calling spam. I just see this as one of the reasons this business center is here... and one of the ways of introducing yourself is to tell someone about your business. I just spent a bit of time dealing with a spammer of a different sort...one who spams the groups and after I politely explained to them that their post would be deleted unless they wanted to change it... they came and wanted to be administrators/moderators at all my forums! Plust they had changed their user id/name ... but that's the exception to the rule...

All groups and communities have ways to block or not allow members to participate.

But... now that I understand how this is all working...I can see the benefit.

It is a very different way to run a community.

I don't think Adsense is Spam Central... I've learned too much here from all the many members who have such great groups....

Hi Beth;

Not only have I been spammed in the past all day long, but just spending 5 minutes on this site gives me a headache. It occurs to me as noise. Everyone is pushing their opportunities and haven't noticed yet that the more they push the less they get.

For some very strange reason people here forgotten that a social site exists and the Internet exists with all it's technology to accommodate the possibility of creating conversations and relationships between people first, then when trust is developed then we talk about business.

Here things got reversed, so if you enjoy all these commercials you go right ahead. I'm involved on a number of other social sites and if I behaved the way people do here I would have been booted a long time ago.

Yes, this site needs a major overhaul, unless it wants to be known as SPAM CENTRAL.

To Your Success,

Coach Steve

Hi Christine,

Thanks for leaving a comment... but the designation of spam can occur to anyone at anytime ... if someone feels they have been spammed then they just have to click wherever there is a ?spam? button.

I have come to the conclusion that this is not unlike Shakespearean play called Much To Do About Nothing ....Change to suddenly has put us all in a spin and it will be fine in a week or so when all the wrinkles are ironed out!
