Why Free Opportuntiies Don't Work

Image I learned a long time ago that free opportunities are a complete waste of time. Every time I see a new opportunity pop up that is promoted as being "entirely free" I think it has to be one of two types of people. Either the person is a newbie and doesn't know any better, or it's someone trying to get people in the door with a free opportunity so they can get them to join their regular business.

The expression "there's no such thing as a free lunch" is a cliche for a reason.  Free opportunities may be free, but guess what - people who join them only joined because it was free. So what you are doing is attracting an army of people who are looking for a free ride. You aren't attracting serious business-minded people who are interested in a real business.

I think a lot of newbies get involved in free opportunities because they think "wow, everyone is going to want to sign up with this - why not, it's free!" and yes there are going to be a lot of people who will sign up because it's free. But the odds are that 95% or more of them will do absolutely NOTHING with the business. They will make no purchases, they will do little promoting, and your return on investment is going to be close to what you put into it. Zero. The only people who  will make any real money with a free opportunity are those who are bringing in dozens, if not hundreds of new members a month who they convince to place orders or make purchases, until those new members realize they aren't making any money after a few months and disappear.

There is a reason why MLMs usually have an autoship requirement - it is to keep people active, plugged in, and ordering on a regular basis. If people aren't using the product, whatever it is, they aren't going to have any belief in it and they aren't going to be able to promote it with any enthusiasm. And if people aren't ordering, you aren't making money. You will end up spending all of your time filling the holes of all the people who have either dropped out or stopped ordering. And when it's a Free opportunity, that's going to be most of them.

So why waste valuable time - and in some cases, money - promoting an opportunity that is destined to fail? A real business requires an investment - of BOTH time and money. Or all you're going to have to show for your efforts is wasted time and an empty bank account.
